There are a few basic guidelines which we recommend you to follow to ensure the longevity of your jewelry.

Our delicate jewelry should be treated with care.

All the items of By Living Stories are made of:

  • 925 sterling silver 

  • or 18 karat gold-plated (with 925 sterling silver on the inside)

All pieces contain a 925 sterling silver quality mark. The pieces have been inspected for silver and gold plating and are approved for worldwide standards.

The surface treatments will fade over time due to contact with hard surfaces, water, perfume, lotion, cleaning products and others. Keep your jewelry beautiful by:

  • Not wearing it while sleeping or showering;

  • Avoiding contact with water, cleaning products, perfume or body lotion (put lotion or perfume on 15/30 min. before wearing the piece);

  • Cleaning your piece with a silver polishing cloth when it becomes darker due to natural oxidation;

  • Taking care with putting on and taking off clothes;

  • Storing it away from direct sunlight and heat. Preferably in a dark and moisture-free environment;

  • Taking care when widening the bracelets when applying it to your wrist;

 

The durability of the gold plating depends on several factors, such as usage and treatment. Also some people have a higher than average level of acidity which may increase discoloring or fading. Therefore we can not guarantee a specified durability of the gold plating.

Gemstones

​

  • Each gemstone is individually selected and cut for your piece of jewelry and will therefore have its own size, shape, color and uniqueness.

  • Gemstones may also change color or appearance due to sunlight or contact with water or other liquids.
